In a 2013 study performed by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, over 246 million people around the world use illicit drugs on a daily basis, an increase of 3 million from the previous year’s study. Furthermore, unlike people in developed countries, 7 out of 8 drug users in the world do not have access to drug rehabilitation treatment.
