HIV, or human immunodeficiency virus, is a virus that attacks the body’s immune system. If untreated, HIV will eventually lead to acquired immunodeficiency syndrome, or AIDS. As of right now, a person cannot be completely cured HIV, even with treatment. So once some gets HIV, they have it forever.
